Please help support the podcast in our September fundraiser!

– A $5 donation buys 50% of a short run ad to grow our audience. It helps us reach more people who may not yet know about the incredible stories we share.

– A $25 donation, covers about 75% of our website costs for a month. The site is a crucial hub for our community, where we host our episodes and share additional content.

– A generous $50 donation covers the cost of 1 1/2 months of web maintenance, ensuring our platform is always running smoothly for you.

– And for those who can contribute $120 or more, that covers about 50% of the editing costs for one episode. This directly improves the quality of our content and ensures these remarkable artists’ stories are told in the best possible way.

And as a token of our appreciation for your support, we have some wonderful gifts to offer you:

– For a $5 donation, you’ll receive a heartfelt “thank you,” and a sticker. It’s of an abstract work I painted last year and I would love for you to have it.

– With a $25 donation, along with a “thank you” you’ll be gifted a special thank-you pack filled with buttons, stickers, a pin and more. (Exact contents of the thank you pack may vary but will maintain equal value. )

– With a generous $50 donation you’ll not only get you the thank-you pack but also a pair of TWAN socks to keep your feet stylish. They’re actually the same sock you’ll find at our merch store.

– And for those who can contribute $120 or more, you’ll receive the thank-you pack, a t-shirt, an art print and our deepest gratitude for helping us make a difference.

The Whole Art Nebula (TWAN), a podcast dedicated to shedding light on the lives and contributions of Black artists, a topic often overlooked in mainstream art history discussions, which tend to focus on just a few notable figures like Henry O. Tanner and Jean-Michel Basquiat. Our mission at TWAN is to bridge these historical gaps and provide a platform for the stories of these artists to be heard.

Our podcast is designed to be easily accessible to a wide audience, not just scholars of art. Through this platform, anyone can immerse themselves in art history while performing daily activities like cleaning, driving, folding clothes, or going for a walk. We believe that making research and stories of these artists accessible to the public is essential, and TWAN serves as an educational tool for art enthusiasts of all backgrounds.

As we continue on this journey, we are committed to enhancing the quality of our future episodes while also revisiting and refining our previous ones. Our aim is to offer compelling and engaging content that captivates our listeners, making art history an enjoyable and enlightening experience for all.

We recognize that our previous episodes require some sound editing. As we continue with the podcast, we’ve noticed an evolution in the style of narration, and it’s now essential for us to enhance the audio quality as well. With your donation, we aim to improve at least five of the previous episodes. We’ll begin by focusing on the latest one, and then gradually work our way backward through the series.

Thank you for your support!
